Credit repair is a process in which an individual cleans up his or her credit report leaving only the person’s actual debts with actual amounts. Only the wrongly reporting creditor can inform the credit bureaus to make a change but the individual can issue a challenge to the bureaus of any debt or debt amount seeking an investigation. The challenge is that creditors and their collection agents only want to get paid and do not care much about the individual’s problem. Thus, credit repair may not actually exist.
